Meet Ana, a Christian living in Mozambique. She and her husband struggle with health problems, but thanks to your support Open Doors has come alongside them!
Ana* is a 58-year-old believer in northern Mozambique. She spent much of her life as a Muslim, and when she converted to Christianity several years ago, her family rejected her.
The situation grew so difficult that Ana had to relocate to another town with her ailing 73-year-old husband. Ana herself has had health challenges with her heart since 2016.
“My husband has been sick for 13 years, and I am the one taking care of the home,” Ana shared with Open Doors local partners when they recently visited her. “I am doing everything I can and trying to run a small business to support my husband.I live by the grace of God. I have been unwell, my husband has been struggling.”
Ana and her husband have no children and survive off the small amount she makes by selling food like corn flour and bran for poultry feed at the market.
But even in the midst of her difficulty, Ana is committed to her local church and trusts God to take her through every ordeal. Her local church has also supported her as best they can.
Thanks to your gifts and prayers, Open Doors local partners were also able to help. They have provided spiritual support and food support to help Ana care for herself and her sick husband. Thank you for standing with God’s people like Ana!
Ana has shown immense resilience in the face of rejection because of her Christian faith and persistent health concerns; she prays that the Lord will bless her business and enable her to build her own stall at the market. She also asks prayers for good health for herself and her husband.
“I am always praying and seeking God so that He may help me, so that I may have more strength as a woman to support my family,” she says. “I am grateful to the brothers and sisters who have been supporting me with food, and with that I have been able to care for my family. I thank those who have always shown mercy to me by helping with food.
